  • Day01

    Cusco - Sacsayhuman - Rock Climbing Crag

    Discover Cusco while you Rock Climbing in the upper part of the city
  Itinerary

Your instructor will pick you up from your hotel at 8:30am and drive approximately 30 minutes outside of Cusco to the crag. From the trailhead, it's a short 10-minute walk to reach the climbing site. Once there, your guide will provide you with UIAA-certified climbing gear, followed by a full safety briefing. Before starting the activity, you'll receive an introduction covering the equipment, rock climbing basics, and essential safety practices from your instructor. Also, have option to learn about the basic climbing notes, harness and carabiners.

Once you're ready, you'll begin climbing on beginner-friendly routes while your instructor belays you and guides you on where to place your next hold. Our climbing spot features more than 10 bolted climbing routes suited for both beginners and experienced climbers, and we'll take our time to climb as many routes as possible throughout the day. Afterward, enjoy a well-earned lunch while taking in the beautiful landscape surrounding the area.

To finish our day, we have a rappel activity (descend 20 meters of wall). Once we finished all the activities, we will back where is our van, then back to Cusco around 3:30pm we'll drop you off at your hotel.

  • Pre-departure briefing

    Once you book the tour with us, you will get a notification about the pre-departure briefing, where you will meet with your climbing high mountain guide and the tour group in our office the night before your Rock-Climbing tour departure. During this briefing, you will receive important details of the climbing.

  • Professional climbing instructors

    All our climbing instructors have a great reputation in customer service, our climbing guide have graduated in mountaineering guide from AGMP of Huaraz, they have also studied English in a private language institute. Through to their patience, responsibility, knowledge, passion for climbing and proud to have been born surrounded by mountains, we ensure our guides provide an excellent experience for you when you explore the climbing spots in Cusco.

  • Entrance Fees to the Climbing park

    Once we receive your details and the deposit for your tour, we purchase all the necessary tickets for your adventure it will be for a specific date.

Transportations

    We included all the transportations during your tour, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the rock-climbing park, the bus returning from the park to Cusco will drop you off at your hotel.

  • Climbing Gears

    During the expeditions we will provide all the climbing gear necessary for this climb (Harness, Ropes, Helmet, Climbing shoes and Carabiners)

  • Medical First Aid Kit

    All tour guides of Cusco Climbing are very well trained in First aid. They received training courses every 6 months how to assist to someone who is in an emergency situation. Also, they are trained how to supply a balloon oxygen in the case if someone requires it.

    At Cusco Climbing, we know food is such an important part of any vacation and getting the right fuel on an active holiday is crucial… We include 1 lunch box during this tour of course, we cater to all dietary restrictions Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten free and others just let us know.

    Every climber need water during this activity is for that we will stop in a shop where you can purchase some water bottles and snacks

  • Travel Insurance

    We recommend to buy a travel insurance before to leave your country in case something happen along your visit to Peru.

  • Tips for our team

    Tips are not included. Tipping the team is usual on any excursion in Cusco, although we pay good salaries to our entire team, tips are welcome as a token of your appreciation for the team hard work.

Yes. We have been climbing for years these crags and mountains, we know very well all the routes which we are offering for our customers. Our high mountain guides were born and now living around these areas they are 100% professional formed at High mountain climbing school in Huaraz region and climbing many times those mountains, mostly of our team are local people who grow up near of these mountains and they have incredible respect for these Apus.

Can I join the tour if I have never done rock climbing?

Yes. Our crag is well recommended for beginners. We will start climbing in top-rope, which is the safest climbing style, and then according to your skill, you can even try more technical routes.

Yes, we include the chalk bag for climbers, this will be available in the crag. Climbing in Cusco where the rocks are very sharp and cold, chalk always is very important.
